Privacy Policy

Hallelu Kids LLC ("Hallelu," "we," "us") operates the Hallelu app and website (the "Service"), which offers Bible-based songs and audio stories for children. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including the specific protections that apply because our Service is used by and with children.

1. Who this applies to

Hallelu accounts are created and managed by a parent or legal guardian ("you"). Children do not create their own accounts, do not provide information directly to us, and cannot access account, billing, or profile settings — those are only ever entered by the parent.

2. Information we collect

Directly from you (the parent):

• Account information: your email address and password (managed securely by our authentication provider, Supabase — we never see or store your password in plain text).
• Your name, and optional preferences you choose to share (e.g. your family's bedtime routine).
• Your child's first name, age range, and optional preferences you choose to share about them (e.g. familiarity with faith content, interest in music, learning style) — provided by you, used only to personalize content suggestions.
• Payment information, handled entirely by our payment processor, Stripe. We never receive or store your full card number — only a reference to your Stripe customer and subscription record.

Automatically:

• Basic technical data needed to operate the Service (e.g. IP address, device/browser type, timestamps of requests), collected by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
• Which songs or stories were played and basic playback state (e.g. favorites, continue-listening position), stored so the app can pick up where your family left off.

We do not currently use advertising cookies, third-party ad trackers, or behavioral advertising of any kind — on this app or anywhere else. If that changes, we will update this policy first.

3. Children's privacy (COPPA)

We take children's privacy seriously and design the Service around the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA):

• We only ever collect a child's information from their parent, through the parent's own account — never directly from the child, and never through the app itself.
• Creating an account requires a parent to complete sign-up and provide a payment method, which itself serves as a verifiable-parental-consent step under COPPA's guidelines.
• We collect the minimum needed to personalize content: a child's first name and age range, and optionally a few stated preferences. We do not collect a child's last name, address, phone number, or precise location.
• We do not knowingly serve behavioral advertising to children, and we do not sell children's information to anyone, for any reason.
• A parent can review, correct, or request deletion of their child's information at any time — see Section 7.

If we learn that a child has provided us information directly, outside a parent's account, we will delete it promptly. If you believe this has happened, contact us immediately at the address below.

4. How we use information

• To create and maintain your account, and to let your family use the Service.
• To personalize which songs and stories are suggested, based on the age range and preferences you provide.
• To process your subscription payment and communicate about your billing (via Stripe).
• To send you service-related email (e.g. billing receipts, password resets, important account notices).
• To keep the Service secure, diagnose problems, and improve reliability.

We do not use your or your child's information to train third-party advertising or marketing profiles.

5. Who we share information with

We share information only with the service providers that help us run Hallelu, each bound to use it only to provide their specific service to us:

• Stripe — payment processing and billing.
• Supabase — account authentication and database storage.
• Vercel — application hosting.
• Anthropic, ElevenLabs, and Google (Gemini) — used internally by our team to help generate story scripts, narration audio, and artwork for the Hallelu content library. These providers process the story content itself (not your account or your child's personal information) — a child's name or personal details are never sent to these providers.

We do not sell your information or your child's information to anyone. We only disclose information beyond the providers above if required by law, or to protect the safety of a child, our users, or the public.

6. Data retention

We retain account and child-profile information for as long as your account is active, plus a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and fraud-prevention purposes. You can request deletion at any time — see Section 7.

7. Your rights and choices

You can review or correct your family's information, or request that it be deleted, by emailing support@hallelu.kids. We are also building a self-serve account deletion option directly in the app; until it ships, we will process deletion requests by email promptly, typically within a few business days.

You can manage your subscription — including canceling it — at any time from your account's Manage Billing page, without needing to contact us.

8. California privacy rights

If you are a California resident, you have rights under California law to know what personal information we hold about you and your household, to request deletion, and to not be discriminated against for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for cross-context behavioral advertising. You can exercise these rights using the contact information below.

9. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and access controls on our systems. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, but we work to protect your family's information appropriately for what we collect.

10. Changes to this policy

If we make material changes to this policy, we will notify you by email or an in-app notice before the changes take effect.
